CMAT 368 - Photo Journalism

35mm SLR camera. 35mm Color/B&W Slide Film

OBJECTIVES:

1. To understand the business of print and electronic photojournalism.

2. To be aware of the laws regarding journalists.

3. To be able to critically comment on print and electronic photojournalism.

4. To be able to photograph corporate/news events.

GRADES:

3 Shooting Assignments - 50%

Midterm (take home critical essay) - 25%

Final Photo Essay - 25%

IN GENERAL:

There will be two weekend opportunities to shoot with the instructor, in a workshop setting, during the semester.

The management reserves the right to "jack around" with the schedule.

All Projects/papers are due on the date stated. We work on tight deadlines simulating "real world" photojournalism situations, therefore don’t even think of asking for an extension. Plan shooting and processing schedules ahead of time.
