FINE PRINT:

  1. Attendance is mandatory. We cover too much material in class to make it up. You are permitted one excused absence. Final grades will be docked 1/3 of a letter grade per absence after that.

  2. You must have an e-mail account for this class. I highly suggest that you apply for a UBMail account even if you have another account someplace else because all the university announcements come by UBMail. You can always forward the UBMail account to your other account. If you've never used e-mail, please attend a library training session.

  3. Assignments are due on the date stated by the beginning of class on the web board (work will not be accepted any other way due to the nature of this class.) Anything turned in late will automatically lose one letter grade per day late. If you don't have access to the web at home or work, please use the on-campus computer labs.

  4. All out of class assignments must conform to the MLA style guidelines and must be submitted on-line. MLA Style books should be available in any library and most bookstores.

  5. Papers will be graded for writing as well as content.

  6. Any paper turned in with more than two errors -- of any kind -- per page will be returned ungraded. Student will be given 48-hours to resubmit the work. Papers falling into this category automatically lose one letter grade.

  7. Final paper topics must be cleared ahead of time.

  8. It is much easier to communicate with me by e-mail rather than telephone.

  9. Comments and grades will be available on the WWW only.
