You should be able to identify appropriate jobs based on advertisements.
You should be able to craft a letter of application that effectively
showcases
your strengths for a particular job.
You should have a well-written resume.
You should have a portfolio that reflects your communication-related
strengths.
Class Structure
The class will meet
as scheduled for the first few weeks of the term. After that, the schedule
will become somewhat flexible: sometimes the entire class will meet; sometimes
smaller groups will meet; sometimes there will be individual conferences;
and sometimes there will be no class at all, giving you that much more
time to produce and refine your portfolio materials.
Grades
Your grade in this
course will be determined by the quality of your portfolio, resume, and
cover letters. Borderline grades will be determined by attendance, attention
to deadlines, and other intangibles.
