Basic categories to consider when writing a business profile: (these are not necessarily in any order.. add, subtract and adapt to meet your needs)

1. Title Page (name, address, email, phone, etc)

2. Concept/Executive Summary

• Description of what the business will be doing

• Mission Statement

3. General Industry

• What is currently going on in the field and what brought you to this place

4. Market Summary

• What is currently going on in your market (the city) and who is your competition

5. Goals

• 1, 3, 5 year plans

6. The Team

• Profile of the members

7. Achievements to Date

• What you/the business has achieved so far

8. Technology

• As it applies to the business. Anything new or innovative. No need to say you'll use computers unless it's in a specialized way.

9. Marketing and Selling

• How will you sell your services

10. Services

• What services will you offer/what makes you unique

11. Milestone Events

• Usually perceived as key risks by those outside the company. How will you get through these stages: development, manufacturing, marketing, financial, growth?

12. Financial Requirements

• the budget for the business start-up

13. Outside Advisors

    • what "adult" supervision are you utilizing?
