Things to keep in mind:
Supplies:
All sound effect records and cd's and stock music are stored in Audio Room "A". Ask the lab assistant for access.
Format
Turn this in as a mixed down AIFF or MOV (quicktime) file either on a zip, cd-rom (burner located in the Multimedia Lab) or put back out on to tape. (If you turn in a zip...I will keep it for one week for grading purposes, so make sure nothing you need is on it.)
How to turn your audio session into an AIFF or Quicktime File (EditDV can only inport AIFF or Quicktime):
ProTool Workers
AIFF: Use Edit>Bounce to Disk. Choose Mono & Convert after Bounce. Click Settings. Make the file format - AIFF, 16 bit, 32000.0 KHz - this is a custom setting - and conversion Best. Click OK. Click Bounce.
Quicktime: Edit>Bounce to Disk. Choose Momo & Convert after Bounce. Click Settings. Make the file format - Quicktime, 16 bit 32000.0 KHz - this is a custom setting - and conversion to Best. Click OK. Click Bounce.
EditDV Workers
Use File>Export. In the Export Menu choose Sound to AIFF. Click the Options button and make sure the output settings are set to 32 KHz, 16 bit Mono.
Quicktime: Use File>Export. In the Export Menu choose Quicktime Movie. Click the Options button and make sure the output settings are set to 32 KHz, 16 bit Mono.
To Record back to Tape
- Make sure everything is perfect in ProTools and then Hightlight the entire piece.
- Play in ProTools and raise the Mac Pot on the board and make sure you have a good level.
- Put a cassette in the bottom cassette deck.
- Press Play, Record, Pause.
- Turn the Input knob until a good level registers on the cassette deck.
- When you're happy with all levels, release the pause on the cassette deck and play the ProTools piece.
