"Writing for the Marketplace" Fall 2006 Lecture Series
"Writing for the Marketplace," a course in the University of Baltimore’s English and Communications Design program taught by writer-in-residence Arthur J. Magida, will feature a series of guest appearances by some of the region’s most established freelance writers and editors. The series, which is free and open to the public, will take place over the course of the fall semester and will deliver practical advice on how to write effectively for newspapers, magazines and books.
The "Writing for the Marketplace" guest speaker series will take place as follows. Unless otherwise indicated, all sessions will begin at 8:15 p.m. in Room 301 of the UB Student Center, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave. Seating is limited, and available on a first come, first served basis.

Topic: What is an "alternative" paper, and how do writers become established there?
Location: Fifth floor multipurpose room, UB Student Center.
