| Poster for Sixth Annual Celebration
of Black Writing
The client wanted a colorful
poster that reflected the African heritage of his audience. I researched
images I thought appropriate, and finally settled on the conjurer woman,
the snake, the antelope, and the zigzag textile border, all against the
night sky. This poster won a Certificate of Excellence from the American
Institute of Graphic Arts, was included in the 1991 Communication Graphics
show, and was published in Graphic Design USA:12, the annual of the AIGA.
Designed for Moonstone, Inc., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a project
of the Institute for Publications Design; I served as Art Director, Designer,
and Illustrator; January 1990.
