Workshop in Graphic Communication
NOTE: This is
representative of the syllabi for this course. It is not necessarily the
syllabus being used in any one semester.
COURSE
DESCRIPTION: This is a hands-on
course for students with a limited background in graphic design. Emphasis will
be on basic strategies for visual problem solving and techniques for preparing
comprehensive layouts.
REQUIRED
READINGS: Handouts will be
distributed in class.
COURSE
REQUIREMENTS: There will be a
series of lectures, activities and computer projects that will enable students
to put into practice information discussed in class. Grades will be based on
technical execution of individual design projects, satisfactory completion of a
design journal for each project, a final portfolio review, and attendance. All
projects must be mounted on black Letramax boards, centered with 2" margins.
